Facilitated through the ACEN NSW/ACT Chapter and ACEN Professional Development and Resources committee, this is a friendly, informal gathering of like-minded practitioners and scholars interested in furthering our knowledge of WIL scholarship, research and practice. The group meets face-to-face through Zoom to discuss thoughts, insights and practical applications related to a nominated WIL journal article or topic.

Lessons learned from the challenges of researching in 2020

Date: 27th November 2020

Time: 12:00 PM AEDT

ACEN and WILNZ have partnered with the Editors of the International Journal of Work-Integrated Learning (IJWIL), bring you this timely session.

Research into WIL has never been more challenging as remote working has forced new ways of collaborating and conducting research. However, the last ten months has also presented interesting opportunities to explore new topics and ways of researching. In light of the recent release of two special issues in IJWIL, this session will draw together ACEN and WILNZ researchers to discuss and share their experiences of researching WIL during 2020.

In breakout rooms, we encourage you to reflect on the following questions:

1. What new practices of researching WIL have you experienced this year? (i.e. data collection, forming partnerships, collaborative writing processes)

2. What research topics do you think need further attention for a better understanding of WIL during COVID19?
