Griffith University students from a range of disciplines have been able to participate in one of the largest sporting events in Australia’s history as they support GOLDOC, the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games Organising Committee to prepare for the Games in April 2018. GOLDOC is offering 250 full-time 12 week internships to Griffith students during the lead up to the Games and during the implementation of the Games.

Students are integrated into the full operational structure of GOLDOC and complete coursework for graded credit. As a result of their internships, several students have already been offered continuing employment as part of the 1,500 person work-force that will be in place by 2018. This unique relationship by Griffith University with GOLDOC has provided a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to be engaged in such a prestigious event.
