Careers and employability learning in higher education: Intersections and disjunctures between employability, WIL, and career development learning.
In this ACEN research conversation, Dr Michael Healy will summarise the key insights gained from his research into careers and employability learning in higher education. In particular, he will explore the relationships, or lack of, between graduate employability, work-integrated learning, and career development, in scholarship and professional practice. Michael will share his curricular vision of a more integrated approach to careers and employability learning.

Careers and Employability Educator and Researcher, My Future
Michael is National Career Education Manager at myfuture, the Australian career information service, and adjunct Research Fellow at UniSQ. He has over a decade of experience in higher education careers and employability learning, leading the development and delivery of a range of services and programs in and alongside the curriculum and contributing to the development of institution-wide career, employability, and work-integrated learning strategies and frameworks. He holds a PhD in careers and employability learning, publishing research in leading international journals and edited collections, and receiving several awards for excellence in career development research and education.

Facilitated through ACEN Research Committee, Research Conversations include informal gathering of like-minded practitioners and scholars interested in furthering our knowledge of WIL scholarship, research and practice and ACEN grant holder presentations.
