Strengths and strategies of simulation-based education
Guest Presenter: Professor Margaret Bearman, CRADLE Deakin University
WIL as an umbrella term also includes practical activities that engage students in simulated experiences of real-world settings. As the covid-19 pandemic hit, virtual simulations were increasingly employed as WIL-based solutions across many disciplines. What are the benefits of simulated WIL and how far can it go to facilitate student learning? In this session, discipline groups will be invited to share what works and what doesn’t when it comes to employing simulations as well as share practice examples of virtual simulation.
