Sustainability means meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs environmentally, socially and economically. Higher Education Institutions have a significant role to play in graduating sustainability literate students with capabilities including reflective, anticipatory and critical thinking, and identifying and working within the complexity of environmental, social and economic relationships. Consequently, Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) is a key space for developing and enacting these capabilities; yet, despite the global and local challenges we face, this has not been a major concern within WIL.
This critical conversation is intended to inform discussion and sharing of practices within the landscape of WIL and sustainability.
