On Wednesday 22 July, academics and WIL practitioners at the University of Wollongong attended a reflective webinar, showcasing diverse responses to WIL pedagogy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Three presentations from School of Medicine, Graduate Career Development & Employability Unit and Engineering, highlighted teaching and curriculum design challenges and reflected on the impacts for students and industry engagements. The presentations including forecasting what strategies strengthened WIL delivery and overall lessons learned. Some of these reflections included:

  • Making more time for student-to-student online social interaction
  • Revising and reducing subject content
  • Having broader negotiations with hosts and managing expectations

The webinar closed with insights and trends in WIL in the national and internal space.
